One-Stop Platform Breaks Mass-Production Barriers for Non-Silicon Materials

Quantum NIL focuses on the process development of non-silicon and advanced materials at the nanoscale. By establishing a hybrid nanomanufacturing foundry platform centered around Nanoimprint Lithography (NIL), the company can mass-produce nanostructures with minimum feature sizes down to 25 nanometers on diverse and fragile wafer substrates. Compared to traditional silicon manufacturing techniques, Quantum NIL offers more flexible and customized manufacturing services, helping tech startups overcome material, structural, and process limitations in product development.

Dr. Sean Lin, CEO, stated that the platform’s manufacturing service solutions currently cover emerging application fields such as advanced photonics, telecommunication laser gratings, metalenses, quantum optics, biochips, and AI-driven nanostructure design. Through one-stop nanoimprint lithography technology on its proprietary platform, Quantum NIL lowers the barrier to advanced process development, enabling technology developers across various fields to develop and mass-produce heterogeneous materials and advanced nano-devices without needing to build full nanomanufacturing infrastructure in-house.

Driving Innovations from Proof of Concept to Scaled Production

Founded in 2024, Quantum NIL entered the advanced nanomanufacturing market with a unique business model. By establishing a highly flexible nanomanufacturing foundry platform through a hybrid semiconductor manufacturing service model, the company helps cross-disciplinary startups and early-stage technology teams navigate the complete development lifecycle—from early proof of concept (PoC), prototyping, and process verification to pilot production and high-volume manufacturing—accelerating the transition of innovative technologies from labs to commercialization and market launch.

At this year's SEMICON Taiwan, Dr. Sean Lin delivered a keynote address titled "Flexible Hybrid Wafer Foundry Platform Driven by Nanoimprint Lithography" at the Silicon Startups Stage on the opening day. He explained how Quantum NIL leverages nanoimprint lithography to connect domestic and international startup technologies, advanced materials, and high-end manufacturing resources, thereby helping next-generation optoelectronic, quantum, biomedical, and AI-enabled nanotechnologies accelerate from proof of concept to practical, scalable products.

Initiating a New Fundraising Round Target Up to $100 Million

Regarding capital planning, Quantum NIL plans to launch a new fundraising round in the fourth quarter of this year, targeting up to $100 million. Dr. Sean Lin pointed out that while this fundraising target may seem substantial for a startup, it remains a relatively lean capital requirement compared to overseas semiconductor manufacturing startups that often require billions of dollars during their initial stages.

Dr. Sean Lin noted that while the VC market in Taiwan evaluates emerging tech valuations more conservatively, international markets demonstrate greater enthusiasm for forward-looking technologies and innovative business models with abundant liquidity. Consequently, Quantum NIL is actively exploring overseas startup investment markets in its financing roadmap.

Establishing Corporate Valuation to Innovate Nanomanufacturing Services

Quantum NIL has commissioned an international accounting firm to conduct a market outlook survey analyzing the supply chain, potential market size, and commercial growth potential to provide a more credible corporate valuation based on the findings.

Quantum NIL is dedicated to breaking through traditional material and process constraints via nanoimprint lithography, establishing a novel nanomanufacturing service ecosystem that bridges innovative technology with high-end manufacturing, and driving the next generation of tech innovations toward commercial reality. Dr. Sean Lin emphasized that the vast application potential of nanoimprint lithography and its capability to disrupt current industry norms have already attracted keen interest from key industry players.
